My name is Dave Bhatia and I work as a Software Engineer and the President
of Tara Group, Inc.
Tara Group, Inc. was incorporated in
1997 to serve the Pittsburgh community with software development needs using Borland Delphi. I
have developed software for Tara Group, Inc. for various industries such
engineering, trucking software, golf course management and public safety.
I have tinkered with electronics since I was fifteen years old, when I turned
19, I bought my first
Commodore computer from
KMart and have always enjoyed working with computers.
I started out as an Electrical Engineer working for Westinghouse Electric
Corporation as a Power Systems Engineer and developed software for the IMPACC
System along with integrating Electrical Switchgears to IMPACC. The IMPACC
System took the world of Electrical Switchgears and brought it down to a simple
level of monitoring them via desktop computers via DDE, think of it as a SCADA
system on steroids.
Westinghouse trained me well; I learned from the best, and with the best
equipment. A few of the things I was involved with were cutting edge
technologies of the past which are common now. I studied and
designed SCADA systems, Man-Machine interfaces using Wonderware and PLC programming. I also
performed systems studies on Electrical Systems such Short Circuit, Coordination
and Load flow analysis.
I worked at Westinghouse for about 9 years and decided I needed
a change and got into something I enjoyed the most - software programming.
I also developed some software applications while at Westinghouse and used various software languages such as dBase, FoxPro, Clipper, C, Assembly and PLC Ladder Logic, but my current languages of choice are
Borland Delphi and
Microsoft C#(pronounced C
Sharp).
I have also developed an application for instrument calibration laboratories called eCalLab, now
in it's sixth revision, you can find out more about
eCalLab here.
Microsoft .NET
has made the programming environment more interesting. All of my time in the
past two years has been invested in learning and designing applications using
Visual Studio .NET, Borland C# Builder and
Borland Delphi 2005 for .NET.
I live in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. To learn more about Pittsburgh,
